Pokémon.com has announced the opening of the new World Championship website. With the site overhaul earlier this year, a lot of the older sites were removed or changed in some way, including the Worlds site. The new site has a list of all the participants who have qualified. This year the Pokémon World Championships will be held at the Hilton Waikaloa Village Hotel in Waikaloa, Hawaii starting August 13 and ending August 15. The schedule has also been announced. One thing to note is a special character distribution on Sunday, August 15. It is available to English, French, and Italian gamers from 11 to 1 and Japanese, German, and Spanish gamers from 2 to 4. What is the character? We don't know yet. However, the Pokémon distributed has always been that years logo. The Pokémon featured in this year's logo are Lanturn, Crobat, Aipom, Quilava, Bayleef, Bellossom, Pikachu, Croconaw, and Smoochum. Chances are that ones of these Pokémon will be that special character. We will just have to wait and see to know for sure. In other news, Pokémon Organized Play is now known as Play! Pokémon. |
